Dr Victoria Kunene is a highly experienced Consultant Medical Oncologist, practising privately at The Harborne Hospital in Birmingham. With more than 25 years of medical experience, she specialises in the diagnosis, treatment, and holistic care of gastrointestinal cancers. Her expertise spans bowel (colorectal), stomach, oesophageal, pancreatic, and biliary tract cancers, as well as cancers of unknown primary origin.

Dr Kunene qualified in medicine from the University of Natal, South Africa, in 1998 before moving to the UK, where she undertook extensive specialist training in Medical Oncology across the West Midlands. She completed her Specialist Registrar training in 2012 and was appointed Consultant Oncologist the same year.

Her career combines clinical excellence with innovation. As a Principal Investigator in multiple clinical trials, she has contributed to advances in chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and immunotherapy, ensuring her patients benefit from the latest evidence-based treatments. Her leadership has also shaped cancer services across the Midlands. She has served as Chair of the West Midlands Chemotherapy Expert Advisory Group and Clinical Service Lead for Chemotherapy at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, where she developed and refined treatment pathways and guidelines that have improved care for countless patients. She now continues this leadership as Clinical Service Lead for Chemotherapy at Walsall Manor Hospital.

Victoria is also an active member of the West Midlands Molecular Genomic Tumour Advisory Board, working alongside a multidisciplinary team to advance precision cancer care. Beyond her clinical and research commitments, she is passionate about education, teaching regularly and mentoring the next generation of doctors. Her approachable manner and clear communication style make her highly respected by both colleagues and patients.
