Mr Simon Radley
Simon Radley graduated from the University of Birmingham in 1985 with Honors in Surgery. He undertook registrar surgical training in general surgery in the West Midlands and went on to complete specialist training at St. Marks Hospital in London. During his registrar surgical training he also undertook an overseas training fellowship to America visiting Boston, Minneapolis and The Mayo Clinic.
On completion of his registrar surgical training Simon took up a post as Senior Lecturer in Surgery at Birmingham University and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham subsequently being appointed to the post of Consultant Surgeon in April 2002. As a consultant he has played a key role in introducing laparoscopic colorectal surgery to The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and to BMI The Priory Hospital.
Simon has been the Clinical Service Lead for General and Gastro-intestinal surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Simon is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He has been the colorectal cancer lead at at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and chair of the West Midlands Colorectal Cancer Expert Advisory group.
He teaches regularly on a number of local, national and international courses and is regularly invited to lecture for at local, national and international meetings. Simon has been a trainer in the national LAPCO training program teaching UK Consultant Surgeons how to perform laparoscopic bowel cancer surgery.
